After finishing Saturday’s round up three strokes on the field Adam Scott saw his lead slip away Sunday to the point where he had to birdie the 18th hole to force a playoff. He made the birdie and went on to win on the third playoff hole by sinking a 48 foot putt for birdie. Strangely enough he almost decided against playing in the tournament. He had played well at the Masters but hopped a plane for his home in Australia instead of staying in the U.S. to practice for the Byron Nelson. Well, at the last moment he decided to play the Byron Nelso because he had struck the ball and putted well at the Masters and did not want to loose his edge. His winning purse was in access of $1,200,000. . .enough to keep anyone’ edge razor sharp.
